Several years ago, I found a vintage credenza with a working built-in turntable. Growing up, my family had a record collection, and I was eager to start my own. The credenza was perfect for the new space I had moved into, but unfortunately it’s electric cord was damaged soon after.

That didn’t stop me from very casually collecting a record here and there as I found them. That is until a several months ago, while out shopping with my nephew, he asked why I was buying records I couldn’t play.

The next day I bought a record player. And, my casual collection has multiplied.

I’m having a blast discovering new songs and old songs. George Benson might be my favorite discovery of all. I had only knew a few of his songs beforehand.
